I expect we’ll see the anchorman and his friend again.
We don’t know a lot about Tarta’s father. Probably a dwarf, probably male. It will be an awkward reunion if it turns out to be Plaidbeard, especially if he has got the Belt back.
I’d be surprised if Plaidbeard picked noir over a swashbuckling adventure genre, but you never know. He could have other interests outside of pirate stuff.
Chaotic Evil doesn’t always equal Chaotic Jerk. There is such a thing as Affably Evil, and ergo, Chaotic Affably Evil. Or is it Affably Chaotic Evil? Anyhow, the fact A.M. knows the guy and presumably about the black market where she and her companions now stand means she probably could have guided them here anytime. But A.M. being A.M., it was probably far more fun to watch her companions blunder their way to the black market themselves.
So, a bit of bad news. Because Turner Network Television is owned by Time Warner, and Discovery Channel is not, Hortzak will not make a guest appearance on Shark Week any time soon.

Hortzak has an explosive personality, but he’s a blast to be around!
he’s pretty much the bomb.
I just hope he doesn’t blow their cover.
At least they will be able to go out with a bang.
They need to be careful though. He’s got a pretty short fuse.
Tarta’s father will be key to finding the Belt; maybe he has it.

Tarta(n) descended from Plaidbeard? Nah, never happen.
Considering “Tarta” is one letter off from “tartan”, it’s quite possible Plaidbeard is in fact her father.
Tarta has the Belt. Remember why Mimic didn’t want to take the job in the first place?
Well, she *is* wearing a belt, but it doesn’t look anything like the one they’re after.
It doesn’t look like the last one they were after.
Perhaps it even shifted with the genre.
Maybe this time he DOES have the Belt of Gender Changing. Seems like too much of a long shot, though.
By which I mean Plaidbeard. I realize that I didn’t make that clear.
Buddy, that’s too left.
Shark, eh? In my experience, they mostly eat dynamite, not sell it, though it rarely agrees with them. Also, they’re going to need a bigger boat.
Fins Up!
Pretty sure Mimic could talk fast enough to defuse the situation if needed.
Dang it. This was supposed to be in reply to Dreadaxe. I wanted to keep the pun chain going.
Sharks are our cuddly buddies and I hope that he’s not villainized for no reason …
He seems like a friendly guy so far.
Well, he can’t be all good since Anti-Madaline likes him.

I didn’t say he couldn’t be nice – just that he couldn’t be good. Or should I have said Good…
@Brandon I get what you’re saying, but check the alt-text…
Roxy’s brother didn’t turn out to be an elf — so, yeah, only probably.
Dynamite fishing? Nope, dynamite fish.
The website interface is updated? It’s much lighter now.
Oh, hey, new site. Neat.
Anyone seen Chekov around? I’ve found his gun just lying here…
If you want cuddly sharks, watch Splash and Bubbles. Silly Sharks only here. He probably keeps getting license plates stuck in his teeth.
I can’t see the alt text on older strips anymore!
